About Me

                Piano, Vocals, Teacher, Performer, Accompanist,
                      Sing-a-Longs, Music Director, Vocal Coach

I have been entertaining audiences and instructing students in the Bay Area for over 30 years as a piano and voice teacher, choir director, actress, theatre producer, composer and arranger.

A native of Russell, Kentucky, I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a B.M.E. degree in voice and piano. I am a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and run the Theory Room for Certificate of Merit.  I also serve as President of the Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation. I am the accompanist for Lake Merritt United Methodist Church - Oakland, College Park High School - Pleasant Hill, and various choral groups.

My main objective is to teach, encourage and ensure that my students are learning at their own pace.  I am an energetic Teacher - my classes are always informative and lively - and I always use a positive approach!  We have Winter and Spring recitals, and during the summer we compose for September's "Young Composers' Concert.

Music changes our lives.  Studies have shown that music stimulates the brain and reduces stress.  It connects us all together and I'm grateful I'm part of that connection.
